When James Garland, Leslie Seaborn and Arthur Abbott combined their diverse legal talents in 1909, a law practice of exceptional character was born, Garland Seaborn & Abott. The new firm was Sydney based, with a thriving commercial practice. But its origins were rural, and the rural connection was strengthened by the new partnership, both Garland and Abbott bringing a strong rural expertise and clientele to the practice. Today, this duality of expertise continues to characterise the firm now know as Garland Hawthorn Brahe, as do the practice standards and personal approach established by the firm’s founders. Men of their time, they believed in personalised service, individual solutions – and a large dash of commonsense. The partners of Garland Hawthorn Brahe have never stopped believing that these are desirable qualities. The contemporary practice of the firm continues to stress personalised partner attention to all client needs – individual and innovative solutions to today’s increasingly complex legal challenges, and, in an increasingly cost-conscious era, a commonsense approach to the need for those solutions to be cost- effective as well as timely. Garland Hawthorn Brahe’s operating structure reflects the firm’s commitment to fast, flexible and cost-efficient services provided at partner level. In 1991 the firm changed its name from Garland Seaborn to the current name Garland Hawthorn Brahe when it formed its current association with Gair & Brahe in Melbourne . The Melbourne and Sydney firms operate as separate legal entities. The Sydney office is located at : - Level 6, 74 Castlereagh Street (Right in the city centre).
The Sydney firm consists of 4 partners, 3 solicitors, 4 paralegals and 4 support staff. |
